Q. I am interested in applying to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. What is the process?

A. Employment applications may be completed on line or in person at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing (first floor, receptionist area). When completing applications in person, you may do so during the hours of  7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday). Our job posting boards are located on the first floor of St. Elizabeth College of Nursing, next to the receptionist area as well as in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, first floor, Radiology hallway.

 

Q. I have applied for a job and received a post card. What does this mean?

A. This means that your application/resume has been received and is currently under review. Those candidates being considered for a position will be contacted accordingly.

 

Q. Who do I contact to check on the status of my application?

A. Please contact Human Resources on our 24 hour message line at 315-734-3295. Someone will return your call regarding the status of your application/resume.

 

Q. Do you require a new application for each position I am interested in?

A. No. In order to avoid delays, please be specific and list positions of interest that you are qualified for.

 

Q. I am currently in a nursing program and would like more information regarding the hiring of student and/or graduate nurses.Who should I contact and how soon should I apply?

A. You may contact the Nurse Recruiter at 315-798-8340. Student nurses are interviewed and employed in per diem and/or part-time entry level positions as openings occur. Graduate RNs are encouraged to apply for employment as early as January 1st.

 

Q. How often is your employment website updated?

A. It is updated on a weekly basis as new positions are approved.

 

Q. Do you accept applications/resumes for positions that are not posted?

A. Yes, we will accept all applications/resumes and maintain them in Human Resources for one (1) year.

 

Q. If I am being considered for a position, how does the job selection process Work?

A. The Nurse Recruiter/Employment Coordinator will review your application/ resume. If you meet minimum requirements, an interview will be arranged. Once all interviews are completed, a hiring decision will be made by the respective manager and you will be notified of the outcome.

 

Q. Do you offer certification programs leading to employment (i.e., Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy)?

A. No. We do not offer certification programs at the Medical Center. Programs are offered at various local colleges and BOCES in Adult Education.

 

Q. Do you have a paid mandatory orientation program for new employees?

A. Yes, St. Elizabeth Medical Center provides a paid, intensive, full-two day general orientation off-site. This typically occurs bi-monthly on a Monday and Tuesday with the exception of the week in which a major holiday falls.
