Free Student Housing
Students are welcome to take advantage of one of the two student houses. Both accommodations are located only steps from St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s main campus.

Each student is given $50.00/ month meal allowance at the following cafeterias:
1. St. Elizabeth Medical Center
2. Faxton-St.Luke’s Healthcare (only if completing an OB/GYN rotation)
A continental breakfast is provided each weekday at Morning Report in the Dedicated Conference Room in the Medical Center and lunch provided at all required noon conferences.
You will experience the same level of hands on learning as a PGY 1 resident. You are treated just like one of the St. Elizabeth team while you are here and as such will have the opportunity to step up and provide hands on care, not just observe.
Medical Library/Librarian’s Office
Located on the first floor of the Medical Center, in the corridor behind the Admitting Desk, the last door on the left through the two exit/fire doors. (view map) Staffed by a professional librarian Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The Medical Library recently converted all of its journal collection and some of its book collection to electronic format. It has retained a small current book collection for borrowing and reference. The book collection is kept in the Medical Library/Physician’s Lounge and is available for borrowing. The Physician’s Lounge Study Area is available from 8:00 am -4:30 pm with 6 computers, copier/scanner/fax. After hours access to the Medical Library only is available by keypunch code (available from the librarian). WiFi is available in the Medical Center. The Medical Library has 200+ full-text journals from subscriptions, MD Consult, OVID, Highwire, PubMedCentral, etc. There are over 150+ electronic textbooks from electronic resources such as MD Consult, Stat!Ref, MerckMedicus, etc. Electronic resources include: UpToDate, MD Consult, VisualDx, Cochrane Database (EBM), CINAHL, and the online catalog are networked from the Medical Library page from St. Elizabeth Medical Center Intranet (iMEC). The Medical Library has access through Interlibrary Loan to books and journals from other libraries across the country/world. There are no fees involved and turn-around is usually fast. The Medical Library will be developing a new website shortly with remote access and providing apps to mobile devices to a lot of the electronic resources.
